Who this is for
This consultation is designed for individuals or couples with a likely German destination and an intended move within the next six months. It is especially useful when employment, study, self-employment or family circumstances make generic checklists unreliable.
What you receive
Before the call, you complete a short intake covering nationality, household, destination, work status, housing and intended arrival. During 90 minutes with a Byte Forgepoint relocation adviser, we map your critical path: document preparation, accommodation suitable for Anmeldung, health-insurance timing, bank access, tax registration and residence-permit steps where relevant.
Within two German business days, you receive a written roadmap with:
- actions grouped into before departure, arrival week and first 90 days;
- likely dependencies and appointment lead times;
- a document list based on the information provided;
- questions to put to a landlord, employer, insurer or authority;
- links to official German sources where available.
What is outside the scope
We do not represent you before an authority, guarantee an appointment or residence decision, find accommodation, translate certified documents, submit forms, or provide legal and tax advice. If your question requires a regulated lawyer, tax adviser or insurance intermediary, we will say so plainly.
How the engagement works
- Request a time. Send your destination, move month and current uncertainty.
- Prepare. Complete the intake at least 48 hours before the call. Bring existing contracts, appointment notices and your own questions.
- Plan together. We identify the decisions that unlock later steps and note facts that still need confirmation.
- Use the roadmap. Your PDF arrives within two business days. One clarification email is included for seven days.
Calls take place by video from our Hamburg office. Advice is based on information available on the consultation date; authority requirements can change, so the roadmap marks items to re-check close to arrival.
Preparation that makes the call useful
Know your citizenship, expected employment or study start date, city, household members and housing status. Redact passport numbers and unnecessary sensitive details. If your destination is undecided, a pre-move decision session may be a better first step.
